I work as a financisl crime officer within one of the largest banks in the UK. Customers contact me about fraudulent payments on their account.

 In this case the customer has multiple payment to Microsoft Xbox. They claimed to never use or know anyone who has an Xbox and the payments have been coming off their account for over 12 months. 

I have access to a system we call Ethoca and with that I can link into other companies systems to check what payments are for and under what name, address etc. One of the companies is Microsoft :). 

So checking the name thats linked to the payment isn't the customers. Now so long as the info is on Ethoca I can give that to the customer without breaching GDPR rules. 

The customer claimed to not know this other persons name. I then double checked their bank account and low and behold the same name is sending her money every 2 months :). 

I challenge the customer on what I've found and they reluctantly admit that they do know the person and they knew all along what it was for then they hung up as I challenge them a bit more.[/quote]
