Agreed. My grandmother used to boil oatmeal in a kettle, and she was Polish.
Americans are weird!

(excepting Meester Wootf of course, who seems perfickly normal to me)
I’m using it to boil pasta and make oatmeal.

I don’t do coffee first thing everyday, but I enjoy the ritual. Boil the water, grind the beans, temper the pot…

Kinda gets my motor skills going, see what level I’m functioning at 😌
Everybody always in such a hurry to have that coffee made : d

So are you a tea drinker, or do you just dislike coffee makers? My game-changer was the Alexa-enabled Hamilton Beach coffee maker. I never know when I'm gonna get up in the morning so coffee makers with a timer never worked for me. Now I can wake up and, while I'm still in bed, tell Alexa to start the coffee. By the time I'm up and dressed and down in the kitchen, it's waiting for me. SO GLORIOUS.

I upgraded to a larger toaster oven too, so I can bake cakes in there, do 9" DiGiorno pizzas, etc. Very nice!

The trifecta, though, comes with the breakfast toaster. It's not only a 4-slice toaster where I put two English muffins, but it has a side section where you can crack two eggs into little pans and put two sausage patties on a little tray, add water to make steam, put on the little lid, hit the start button ... and in about five minutes two wonderful Sausage McMuffins with Egg are ready.

Since I have to cook hubby breakfast when I'm bleary-eyed and half awake, this machine has made my life so much easier. (Along with the little omelet maker: scramble three eggs, pour 'em in, add prechopped onions, peppers, diced ham, shredded cheese, close the lid, wait ten minutes. Voila! OMELET perfection!

These kinds of contraptions almost make me like being in the kitchen.

Almost.
