The Shoutbox
NC has been in varying levels of drought for X years.

Unluckily for us, the water table is currently full. And then Florence shows up with her bounty.
If you jump to 21:18 you can see the building where I work.
If it tracks back and hits us with the original projections we will see a repeat of '85.

I'm in the Appalachians. My city is in a bowl, so we will get some hellacious flooding if the storm tracks back to its original path. We are looking at just some localized flooding with the current projections of 4-8 in: original projection was 20-24 in. We will be in serious trouble if that happens.

Agreed. I have plenty of friends in the path of Florence... slowly checking in now and again to let us know all is well. So much easier for THEM as well as us.

neat. I always love that creepy feeling. What part of VA you around, if you mind me asking? Mom is down in the SW corner near Lynchburg.

BTW, I didn't really like the Jack Ryan series =( Most of it was fine, some of it was great, but a lot of it felt forced and awkward to me. Details I guess, but enough to bug me. Solid 3.25/5 I guess? Maybe had they shaved 2 episodes and compressed what remained, I would have enjoyed it more. I did pimp it out to family though and I think they will dig it.

Looks like they are predicting Florence may spin south at Wilmington.
