I made it to the movie and tapped out, I also had a skip guide that cut out a lot of filler. Good stuff.
Ha, that’s neat. I need that.

I am, believe it or not, on episode 1 — still recovering from covid/migraines/life, so I started watching it last night and passed out 20 mins in — not the show’s fault, just me. So I’ll start from scratch again tonight.
It was a good show. It just had 20+ episodes a year, like all network shows used to, so there was some filler. The good ones are extremely good, though.
Some people say to stick with it until Mulder leaves, but I felt like the show was getting super rocky by that point. I would just see if you are sick of it at that point, and if not, keep on rollin!

Where are you in the show now?

When they move the show to California for its filming locations is when I felt like it really started to tank, which I believe is season 6 or 7.
This is helpful — thanks. Will probably leave it there then.

I recall a discussion years ago where you had said this about the show. Totally makes sense, as it is one of the more hit or miss shows ever made, IMO. Unlike many shows, it's the long arc, serialized stuff that tends to crash and burn, with the mystery of the week/monster episodes being more fun.

Really though, it's all about Mulder and Scully, and how much enjoyment people get watching the character interplay etc.
i need to get a short throw shifter stat

That reminds me of every time I would try and show someone Dragonball Z and it would be an exposition episode.

Didn’t X-Files use to come on Friday night, which seems so weird now. Remember spending the night and watching it on a “kitchen tv”.
