Wait ..... your username doesn't translate to enimenim then?
All this time I've been thinking you were closely related to a famous rapper.
Who knew??

It's a franchise where the third movie is about a world where all the water has dried up and the fourth movie is about reaching a boat in the middle of the ocean. It's not so much coherent as it is good at proving why literal coherency is not the be-all and end-all of what makes films worthwhile.
Ok, that makes 3 mistakes I just delete corrected. Screw the last one.

There was a Mission: Impossible game on the Nintendo 64. Always wanted to play it, but never did.
Yeah, it is pretty much a mix of all those classic spy and assassin tropes but the craftsmanship is key. Adaptations of games into movies (or vice versa) seem to imply that whoever's doing the adapting is free to coast on the brand and not make something authentically good (also the reductive idea of games as being purely about action to the point to the point where non-action games get turned into action movies, even if Resident Evil managed to be decent regardless).
Like legit, the use of disguises in Mission Impossible movies are just so brilliant I would have loved to see a Hitman movie utilise it in the same way 47 would in the games. It clearly can be done as seen in MI movies.
