Yeah coz i was completely serious there. Thought it was funny precisely because it doesn't suit Ozu at all. The idea of the happy ending with the stubborn father finally fully approving of the marriage by going to visit them being scuppered by a nuke is so anti-Ozu that it's funny to think about.

No, it wouldn't. It's just not Ozu's style. Plus there are many atomic bomb films made in Japan. As a matter of fact they were obsessed with this theme. Can't really remember seeing a film ending like this, though.

Can anyone help me find this movie?
I saw the trailer for it a year or two ago. It’s a guy finds this alien dog creature out in a field and it has a usda stamp on its side. That’s all I really remember. I think it had to do with food industry serving out some genetically modified creatures and one escaped. I know that’s not a lot to go off of, but please let me know!
