What's that old saying? When people show you who they are, believe them.

I usually don't believe them the first few times. The downside is a lot of needless hostility and distraction from more productive discussions. The upside is a totally clear conscience when I finally have to make the decision.
They do say that tigers rarely change their spots.

Yeah, very often in these situations things are better in the wake of a warning or ban (with assurances it won't be the same going forward), but it usually decays quickly and sometimes it's even worse than before. Almost without exception I end up letting people go through this cycle several times, even though after a couple it's abundantly clear it isn't going to change.

A lot of this depends on the individual or individuals involved.
Our conversations in the “riot in us” thread is A good example where we avoided insulting each other, and not being condescending for the sake of of it. While we didn’t agree, we never really crossed any lines where the other person left personally insulted by the other (for the most part).
And if it seemed like it was getting slightly heated, we walked away before it got worse.

I drink a lot of the stuff. Not literally, it's all sugar free, and it's usually generic stuff. But I buy sugar free drink mix in bulk from Wal-Mart or wherever and keep like four jugs in the fridge and keep one with me most of the day, just chugging the stuff. It's a great habit, if you can get used to just sort of drinking water steadily throughout the day.
I'm the same way all summer long (sugar-free lemonade, just the 2-qt. Great Value/Walmart brand packets). I think we even use the same Rubbermaid jugs. So easy.

But, if all your sugar-free stuff has aspartame, that's a lot of aspartame. See if you can find brands/off-brands that use Splenda or stevia. (I think I remember that you don't care for stevia, though.)

I gotta get back off the aspartame wagon. That stuff is so bad.

4C has a really good lemonade that has Splenda instead of aspartame. Gotta go order me some...

Don’t need specifics of his case Specifically , obviously, but the violations that could lead to it.
Any threats or harassment done outside of the forum. Usually email.
Seems rather ironic that this all happened over an argument over the semantics of the word "hate". Oh well, at least I don't have to tell him what I thought of Kaboom.
