The Shoutbox
Such a nice boy. Really enjoyed the vid, or should I say the first 10 secs. Yep, no headphones at work meant we stopped that one on the runway

Shoutastic!
Nope. Just an inconsequential shout in the void 😜
Wait. WAIT!! I'm not a program!?
That playful gag stuff is, for me, synonymous with the Indy trilogy, so Id argue thats inconsequential. And wasnt Indy still skeptical in the third movie even after witnessing a whole company of Nazis disappeared into thin air?
The only thing that really doesn't make sense with Temple of Doom being a prequel is Indy's attitude with Marcus when packing in Raiders, how he doesn't believe in superstitions and mumbo jumbo. But the year before he would have just seen the power of those stones.

And the gag when he goes for his revolver to shoot the swordsmen in Temple is only funny because of dispatching the swordsman in Cairo...which hadn't happened yet.

Otherwise, eh, it's fine timeline wise that Raiders happened afterwards.

It is?? How did I not know this?
Because it is pretty subtle. I think thats the genius of it, too. It doesnt beat you over the head “hey Im a prequel!!”
That doesn't answer the basic question. What makes it a prequel?
Raiders takes place in 1936. Temple takes place in 1935.
