A lot of these companies shave corners for profitability.
They may have started using different mix, glaze and fillings, or different "donut fry shortening".

Or it could be poorly trained people.

Ahhh! I rarely use mine for hot bev. It gets a lot of use for cold drinks in hot weather.

I like him, but I never heard anyone declare him a great actor. He has presence, but that's mostly it.
