yeah. I can't even imagine living in smokey conditions like that. If it's thick enough to be falling from the sky, that's got to do a number on breathing/health, AC units and vehicle intakes. I don't know how thick it is, but geez. Can't be healthy. Seems surreal. Stay safe. Glad to hear you're not taking things casually. Sorry you're having to deal with it though.
The evacuation order isn't for my neighborhood and I've yet to ever actually get one, but the air is full of smoke and ash right now. I think most people that do get the orders take them seriously, but you always have some idiots who refuse to leave. Wildfires are no joke and should not be taken lightly so if I ever got the order or if the smoke ever got bad enough, order or not, I'd be packing up the animals and getting the F out.
dang, MV. I heard NPR talking about possible evacuations this morning but it was just a news break blip headline. Do you get evacuation orders where you live often? Do locals take that seriously? I mean, here, we get hurricanes. They usually come multiple times during the season. I'm 2.5 hours from the coast and we're pretty well tucked in between the two most common entry points so rarely do they come directly over us. Still, it's kind of just taken for granted as just another season of bad weather and not much more. Even if orders came to evacuate, I doubt many would take it to heart due to the perception that "we generally don't get damage, why would we ever?" kinda attitude. Are you safe over there?
Oh yay, looks like parts of my town are under an evacuation order because of the closest fire. Oh and I still have no air conditioning because I'm waiting for the guy to be able to come back and replace the unit. Oh and my health insurance randomly got cancelled due to non-payment, despite the funds being taken from my check and my employer swearing it's been paid. Life is great.
