He does seem sweet and geniune, and I usually like his films a lot. The Shape of Water fell flat for me, though. And I LOVED Pan's Labyrinth.

I think Del Toro has a better reputation than his filmography deserves because he is sweet and genuine and clearly passionate. I like him a lot too but he doesn't have a great track record.
