Way I see it, pretty much every single series they've made has been an ode to stagnation and complacency, with the exception of The Acolyte. Everything else was just a ploy to bring back a well-known character (or a slight variation of a well-known character) that was already established in the previous movies or animated series.

That was what I enjoyed so much about The Acolyte - it wasn't just regurgitating the established characters, it was trying to do something that, at least in this franchise, practically amounts to starting from scratch. New characters, new situations, nothing really like what we've seen before.
The Acolyte was probably some of the worst television I have ever seen. It totally crapped all over the Star Wars mythology, had terrible characters played by bad actors, and was written by a talentless activist with about 500 axes to grind. Hot garbage, that. Good riddance!
