John McChad is back!
Walter was a great character, probably my favorite on the show. I think the problems you list with the universes pretty much sums up the problem with any sort of multiverse fiction - nothing ever really matters.
I really liked the dynamic/story between Peter and Walter. I'm just pissed how they ended it, and I think that's why I hate the show so much.

That said, I was pretty sure McClane would hate any show that leaned into the whole many worlds thing.
yes, i do hate that kind of sci-fi, but this was more like "the stuff that just happened in these two universes and made all these characters who they are....yeah, just kidding...those universes got blowed up and now we have two new ones that, once you understand, we're gonna blow up, too". I've eaten cleaner sloppy joes.

Yeah, I made a series of bad choices that resulted in an unscheduled absence

The entire premise was pretty absurd, and half the fun Lisa and I had were making fun of how bad Anna Torv played some of her scenes, but hey, I really enjoyed the whole authoritarian lockdown business at the end.

I think I recall you telling me you disliked that entire realm of fiction at one point, yes?
I liked the show's formula from 1-3, and season 4 and 5 never recaptured it. Spent too much time running around like a decapitated chicken
I thought seasons 1-3 were OK if you could overlook their weak openings and endings. But seasons 4 & 5 were just one big fat sloppy mess of "forget everything you learned in the first 3 seasons". And the resolution with Peter and Walter ending the show with him mouthing words. Cheapest ending I have seen. Makes those cats at HBO read like Hemingway.
I think I said this before but I have no trouble admitting at least some of Fringe was absurd, while still retaining really positive memories of it overall.
Nonsense! Great show through its entire run! Final season was excellent.

Anyway - glad to see you back around!
Fringe was an awful show, and they felt the need to double down on that in season 4 and 5.

Who do I sue to get all that time back? Fox? J.J. Abrams?
