The Shoutbox
I'm not trying to be an ass, but I'm not seeing the next SC, Nostro, or Camo among the new people.
Yeah, both of you are quite new, and I'm juuuuust getting to the point where I'm starting to "recognize" your voice when I see you post stuff.

I actually think it usually takes longer, but you both have very memorable usernames, which admittedly helps.

i've been coming on more lately in the last past few months than i have in years, and i had recently been thinking about maybe trying to get more involved, like reactivating my movie review thread and stuff, but it's been so quiet the past few weeks that i decided to wait. i come on here almost every day hoping it'll start to pick up again, but i know it will eventually. i've been a member for like 12 years and i've seen this happen more than once before
And given how ugly things had gotten, as you pointed out, I think some new blood is probably a good thing.
Keep in mind this stuff looks really different to me, because I've had a bird's eye view for all of it. Every time some longtime member stops posting, I literally remember when they were the new person that nobody had really noticed.

There are some pretty cool new people here already, but it'll be months, sometimes, before they've pushed their way into the culture, and people recognize them and their style and their taste. But new people are always coming in, which is why I probably sound so nonchalant about this stuff.
Of course; that's why the changes were necessary. I'm definitely not suggesting that everything happening is normal, just that regular users not posting any more is an inevitable part of any forum's life cycle. Frankly, we get wayyyyy less turnover on that front than most places. Which is probably why it seems like a bigger deal, in the short-term, when it does.
Yoda, you don't think this forum (or atleast the political subs) has been more dramatic lately?
Sexy has been one of the most active members next too you in the history of the forum.

Camo has been consistently active for the past 5 years.

I don't think both of them cleaning there accounts and leaving with no explanation is just part of the norm
