B/c I do so much of my work (both actual work and then my website) at varying locations I decided I had to go with the laptop. My in-laws are huge into E-bay so I can never get on the computer down there, so the laptop is a really nice tool to have... plus it impresses the ladies LOL
Yeah the physical BUS structures are wider in desktops than they are in portables. You'll notice the decline in performance. I'm debating a laptop... might get one.
My laptop has a 1ghz chip with 256 mgs of RAM... this puppy flies! Much better than the 266 I had at work Surprisingly it isn't much faster than my 666mhz desktop at home, but that's probably b/c I only use the computer to browse the web and make my site.
Hi Toose!!
Hi Spud! Patti! Thmilin!
did you guys ever see the Dilbert where they're trying to come up with a new product name?

the boss suggests something that combines a "space" theme with a "technology" theme. the most futuristic sounding name possible. the result: Uranus-Hertz. lol.......

i gotta go. lates.
my computer is a POS model. it has 350 migs of ROM, 800 msz of chip space, a brand new UltraVu vid card, and a total idiot behind the keyboard. a DVORAK keyboard, that is!
I bought a P3 800mhz with 256mb of ram, Cd Burner and an ATI 64 vid card for 300 bucks at our factory store... works like a champ
I've built my own computer before... but find it much easier to just got out and buy one now. I no longer have the time or patience required to put my own together... plus if something goes wrong I just call someone up and yell at them until they fix it, which is much easier than noodling it out myself
Bah. Sorry, I really, really like Dell. It's served we exceedingly well so far. I like both, but you may be right about their primary use...regardless, I dig it. Compaq will always be my first, though.
