Is it "Mare" -- like a horse? Or "Mar" -- as in, to mess something up?

Neither is terribly flattering...but the latter is more appropriate.

I'm so mean sometimes.
How's the writing going Mar?

Mar of course being pronounced in the manner in which we have previously discussed at length.
Hmm... that's a good one. Interesting.

But it was a wiser man who invented alcohol.
I've always liked...

"It was a wise man who invented God."

I've got a lot of other religious quotes on call, but ya'll would probably find them kinda preachy...even the Lewis ones (which I dig with a spoon).
Since I'm pondering religion...

"Is man one of God's blunders or is God one of man's?"

Not literally of course, but I do get your point.
I must've "called" your likening the cycling to soccer a half an hour in advance. Seriously.

See, cycling is boring to watch...but it's not all that boring to read a basic recap composed of no more than, say, a page or so. Soccer, however, is so boring that even the summaries put me to sleep.
So, you didn't follow the soccor, but you're following some obscure bike race?!

Not obscure.
At all.

Sure. Feel free to use "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" or something similar, too.

More interesting course of discussion: anyone following the Tour De France? Methinks Armstrong'll end up on top in the end. He's the only cyclist I cheer for, because he started here in the 'Burgh...took this local race three years running, I believe, and let his teammate take the fourth...it feels weird to think that he's the greatest in the world now.
Will a "Kinks incoming!" do it, Cap'n?
Feel free...just warn me, first.
