I have no idea if this helps you, but I subscribe to Starz through my Amazon Prime Video subscription for an added nine bucks a month or so. (I tend to add it when a series restarts, then drop it again once the season ends.) You can also add Max that way, I THINK. Might be cheaper than a standalone subscription? 

ALSO, Max is apparently not just HBO streaming. I'm seeing a ton of non-HBO shows that make Max seem more like another full streaming service. Go figure. Like we need another one of THOSE.

Also also... a bunch of HBO series end up showing up in other streaming services eventually, so you might not be able to watch them brand-new but could eventually watch them through something like Netflix.[/quote]
