6.6L is insane. That’s 1960s displacement.

Re Chevy 2500 HD:

We tested the Silverado 2500HD with the gasoline 6.6-liter V-8, and it earned 14 mpg on the highway. For comparison, we tested an F-250 with the gas-fed 6.2-liter V-8 and six-speed automatic transmission, and it returned 15 mpg in the same test. The diesel Silverado 2500HD managed 19 mpg on the highway, as did the Ram 2500 we last tested.
The diesel is the way to go because it can also tow 3600 lbs.

well, not to worry because they won't survive in outer space

Yet, by 2030 the UK is on about making petrol and diesel cars obsolete by 2030.

Yet... they haven't even started planning, let alone actually building, an infrastructure for electric cars yet, and it's already 2022.

They have 8 years to replace every single petrol station in the UK with electric charging points.
The other problem is that electric cars also do maybe 10 miles on a full charge, and then take 72 hours to refill.

So yeah, I reckon...

NASA will build a power station before it's feasible to go electric.
It’s all lip service for now. Not to say progress isn’t being made, but when these dates get closer, there’s gonna be a lot of backtracking.

Let alone the class divide. How are people barely getting by

1. be able buy an electric
2. pay for gas, which will probably not be as cheap as it is now

I personally feel like no progress will be made until all the profit has been rung out of petroleum. Hell, we can’t even get off plastic.

renewable energy society will be a reality basically due to failing infrastructure and techno-leg but if there's a race against the clock to prevent global warming...nah we're just screwed.

don't know about the legality aspect, but i'm glad you are not a lover of those kinds of cars...i hate em' too, i've been thinking about getting a small pickup truck like they made in the 90's but they don't make them anymore: crap gas mileage or hit the road! There's always craigslist, a sketchy place to buy anything.
Ford Maverick hybrid! Good luck on that price.
