The Shoutbox
precisely, we got to see how the empire subsumes world's to serve as their middle management. that, in and of itself, is frightening.

both do a wonderful job making the Empire scary, but i think Rogue One does it better.
One must also consider how well Andor reinforced this idea: Those two works almost completely rectified the whole "now the Empire is just a comedic parody of itself" issue that was begun in earnest in Return of the Jedi (a weaker film, IMO).
see, this is precisely how i view Rogue One, through the lens of Andor.

that episode when we hear the TIE fighters before seeing them. man, i had never felt fear like that before. and the cohesiveness between the two works is outstanding!
I loved the decision to focus on sort of middle management types in the ranks of the empire, really digging into the mindset of people who would put their energy into a regime like that. Then shifting to the prison story on the back half of the run to really ramp up the tension and show all the gears of the empire just grinding people into pulp. I hope we get the same level of quality in season 2.
i seriously need whatever you're smoking today.
I hear Jyn Erso is going to be in season 2 of Andor.....

What better way to celebrate Carrie Fisher's birthday than talking about her movie mom?
