I used to love seeing the long row of blue spine novelisations in W H Smith's (this was in the early Nineties), many with their incredible Alister Pearson covers. Brilliant painter but also a brilliant graphic designer. "Meglos" sticks out as my favourite cover. Lousy TV story but great to see Tom Baker as a cactus .

Personally if I'd done my work experience in a library I think I'd have been stood by the 'check-out' counter just saying "Book 'em Danno" with a grin every time a 'customer' approached

I did my school work experience at the library.

It mainly consisted of getting sent out to buy cigarettes for the driver of the mobile library and saying the word 'duodecimal' a lot, as if I knew what I was talking about.
