Also, American cinema sucks ass compared to Japanese cinema. Not very shocking, though. The Japanese are masters of pretty much anything they touch. But if 1,000 people work 14 hours a day, one of them is bound to make something good.
Now, I totally agree that Japan is superior as far as making great films, particularly from the 50’s-70’s period. However, that doesn’t mean American films are by comparison bad, or “sucks ass” even.
