The Shoutbox
Vince Young is a beast.
OG-, I hooked up my old wireless B router. Man, talk about old technology. All I wanna do is use my laptop in the living room so it has more then enough bandwidth.

However, I just found out that my school laptop was returned to me with a "dumb" battery. I don't get more then 30 minutes to a charge. I'll have to go complain tomorrow.
Arrrrrgh....Hubby decided to catch up on all his back epis of Amazing Race today, and I'm watching them with him because I missed 'em too.

(But, shhhh, I'd rather be upstairs watching BSG Season 2!! Later, later, for sure!!)
Seeing the Shoutbox name changed back, I figured I'd give another reason to rename it once more.

Just caught back up in BSG with the last 3 I'd missed. "Unfinished Business" was a helluva an episode!

Helluva!!!
Hello everybody

I ought to drop by more often, but happy holidays.
Yes, sharing files in the house is more reliable then trying to access the Internet through a wireless router. At least, in my experience it has been.
Well, if you run one video stream wireless is fine and dandy. And I'm sure that's all you do right?
Or buy a new keyboard for under ten bucks.

Someone elsewhere said to use distilled water, and that with spilled soda, the key is to be fast because it can corrode.

As for wired/wireless: Hubby ran these wires a handful of years ago before the widespread use of wireless routers, etc. Plus, frankly, our house is big enough that the connection rates vary widely around the house. And it has interruptions (internet) that the ethernet connections don't have. If I have to download a large file, I try to use a wired connection. Because I've had trouble with downloads stopping in the middle with wireless interruption blips.

Perhaps in-house data streaming via wireless is more secure than internet connections...?
A whole host of different files, but namely xvids and, most recently, x264 vids that can range between 1 and 5 gigs per file.

Television captures, DVDRips and even complete DVDRs. I'm a digital kid and like my content - regardless of the hard copy - available on a portable hard drive.

Yarr.
There's only one thing I really hate about winter, and that's how cold my feet get. No matter what I do, they get cold and stay cold.
OG- what kind of of videos and full length movies are you streaming?
