Gosh, Sedai, if the David Lynch site can't get it right, you're screwed.
I just love the way John assumes most of the thinking population of the world must ipso facto be at best agnostic on the theistic scale. Sorry, John, but there are some pretty danged deep thinkers out there who are really deep, true believers. They're out there.

In fact, I could just as easily say that all the advances in science that have removed some levels of superstition might just *encourage* belief in God. The complexities of the human body and mind alone point so clearly to a sentient Maker, IMHO. I'd say the more we learn about the universe, the more it points to God. (Hey, there's even a psalm about the heavens and the very earth and stones declaring the glory of God! Go figure.)
That's the great thing about the Internet, it contradicts itself so much.
Ok, so...after deciding that sites like RT and IMDB are crap, and refusing to believe any site that is telling me I missed Inland Empire, I decided to check DavidLynch.com...which says it is opening in Boston on March 9th.... I hope his site is correct!
Yoda: I think the fact that being alive in the 17th, 18th and 19th century had something to do with that. I'd put good money on the conclusion that most of them would probably be agnostic, at least, if they were alive today. Besides, I think the deist god is one that we should have little concern about.
That, and I was trying to make sense of the first line, and it makes way more sense with "cool."

I honestly don't know much of anything about them. I'm a bit intrigued, though, so I'll probably check some of their stuff out tonight.
You've never heard them? How'd you know the lyric, then?
I am totally crushed... I just can't believe I missed it... he distributed the film himself?? Why, David, WHY????
John: interesting quote. And very interesting how so many of history's great thinkers believed in God, but distanced themselves (to varying degrees) from overly organized religion. It illustrates both the self-evident truth of the former, as well as the fallibility of the latter.
