The Shoutbox
Heyyyy, Sammy.
It was maddening, of course. I'm cool with them teasing us an all this, but I felt some of the angles were confused and hurried.

For example, all this business about the polytheistic religion of the Colonies and the monotheistic religion of the Cylons being possibly linked, and the "eye of the cow" somehow equating to the "eye of Hera." Wha? I didn't follow that at all.

At times, I feel like things simply come on screen, or are spoken, and all we truly understand is the conclusion. But when I really watch a show, I want to know every in and out. I rewind constantly to make sure I have not just the events and conclusions, but the methods and reasons, straight in my head. Every now and then BSG makes that more or less impossible.

Sucks not having a thread to talk about this in; Season 2 would have me spoiling it for others, and Season 3 would spoil it for me (already got slightly spoiled by venturing in there very briefly the other day. D'oh).
Sedai!! I was just looking for the name of the painting you said you liked with the people at the outdoor cafe or racing club or whatever that was. You know the one?
Anyway, how did you like Rapture?
RE: Dirt - Sort of defies comparison, yes. It's over the top, raunchy, gutter trash, and I love it.

It may be garbage, but it's garbage I don't mind taking out once per week.
Yeah, it seems to really fly right after recovering from downtime. Kinda like how you feel great right after you've thrown up.
The site is screaming now. Finally, I can post with ease.

BTW, Happy Read Across America Day!
Oh, by the way: I just saw Rapture, so I've only got a few episodes to go before I'm all caught up on BSG. I'll be making a push tomorrow to make sure I'm ready for Sunday's episode.

It'll be so weird after it airs, knowing that I suddenly have no method whatsoever of seeing the next one any way other than simply waiting a week. I'm not exactly looking forward to that, but I am looking forward to being able to fearlessly venture onto SciFi.com and the Season 3 thread here.
Yeah, I've seen parts of it, actually. I was reading something about how it's pushing the envelope and all that jazz with various sex scenes that barely avoid overt nudity.

I'm fine with it as long as it's part of an intelligent, entertaining whole. There's so much great stuff on TV these days, though, that it's more about finding time to genuinely follow the best shows. I try to watch shows religiously, or not at all. The only ones I watch occasionally are The Simpsons, Lost, and Scrubs.

What would you compare Dirt to? Or does it defy comparison?
It's in the gutter, but I really like it... it has some Lynchian trappings that I really dig, and an interesting character set. It's pretty ranuchy, though. Not sure if you get down with stuff like that...
I've been hearing a lot about that lately. Is it good?
