...and it was in colour and mainly in town (maybe Paris, but I really can't remember)
... the asylum seemed slightly more rural in its setting, but it might just have been in greener grounds......

...no, it was definitely British... I remember at one point she was wearing a black and white striped dress in it - possibly with hat - very striking and 80s, there being a lot going on plot-wise...
