The second one sounds like Let's Scare Jessica to Death, but that was made in 1971. It matches perfectly; it has the mole in it, the dead guy on a tractor, and a girl who had been institutionalized....

Big Fish was a good emotional film, in my opinion.

One super fantastic movie I saw recently is called The Fall. Punched me in the emotional gut real nicely.
