I agree Poltergeist (1982) is one of the scariest movies
especially if you see it as a kid.

There are also some alfred hitchcock movies that are scary
such as vertigo and psycho

Dorian Gray 2009 movie was released on september in the UK
i havent seen the movie, but by looking at the reviews
at imdb.com it is rated 6.6 seems like a decent film
though not a great one.
