Are Scream Queens Still Being Made Today?

Re: Are Scream Queens Still Being Made Today?

Fay Wray is the archetype. Being in that amazing spectacle, King Kong, only a couple years after sound arrived, Fay set the benchmark that's only rarely been bettered. I wonder if she ever got her...

They were a cheap box set in Big Lots, about 10 movies for $8. It seemed hard to lose for that price. I did like Fury and it seemed like my DVD shelf was slim on war movies. That same shelf has a...

A box set of WW II "classics". It includes movies like Anzio, Fury and The Guns of Navarone. Generally nobody expects ME to be watching old war movies, but now and again, I do.

It was old by the time I saw it, but I recall being a small kid and being taken to see the 1950 Treasure Island in a Saturday Matinee. I wanted to be a pirate after that if I could have a great...

Another one that I was probably too young to see, The Forbidden Planet, the Id Monster. You see foot prints in the sand, hear strange sounds, then it starts roaring. You don't see anything until...

I really can't think of one. Being a musically oriented person, movie music is the emotional barometer of the plot line for me. If you want something like movies with no music, it's trying to be...

Oh no. With no music, it's just a grim reaper festival from the nazi era. With Tangerine Dream, it's like a grim nazi era movie sonically illustrated by Miami Vice. The music is half of what makes...

Re: What is the most boring movie ever made?

Boring is such a subjective evaluation. I've seen hyperkinetic action movies that bored me to the point where I slept through the explosions and car crashes. Bruce Willis comes to mind here.

Re: Do you still own your very first DVD?

Probably Dark City, which was released just about when DVD's became available for a rational price. I still have it. It's a delightfully strange movie.

I'd only disagree with that to the extent that, I''d elevate it a step. A filling is relatively minor but Otto goes all the way to a root canal.
