Malignant was right up my alley. Weird, perfectly lit and directed, and with a great twist. It helped the action to feel more fitting than it could've been. Sorry, crumbs, but I really like James...

For the first time in my life... I want big monkey movies

Just watched Konga TNT, and it put me in that mood for giant ape movies. Never gone through that kinda binge before. Any good big ape movies, or any ridiculously cheesy ones? Preferably non-Kong...

Re: Movie You're Watching Tonight

Konga TNT is obviously intentionally bad. 18 minutes in, popping in to say that I doubt I'm gonna hate this as much as Imdb does. But I love how some of the actors almost sound like they're trying...

It's funny that you both think this considering that I just put it in my top 100. However, Hitchcock's not very typical of a movie maker and tries to balance art with message a lot. I'd say the...

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Saw

I knew I'd really like Malignant. The action was a little out of place, but forgivable for me since I get bothered by too much tradition. Besides, every scene was exceptionally directed, and with...

Probably. I tried looking for the two parts separately. Buy I guess since it's fairly obscure in comparison to other German silent films (which isn't the hughest-selling market), as well as other...

Why do people consider the first two Dr. Mabuse films one film?

It honestly confuses me. The two parts may have been released in the same year and have a continuing story, but so do Matrix 2 and 3. Just because that might have been the "original intent" doesn't...

Gimme your favorite "x genre" specialists.

Sometimes I'm just in the mood for a big binge on a specific type of movie. However, a big part of my current movie binges is specific directors. I admit I don't have the knowledge of some big name...

I'd have liked to see Ratchet's face when she found that she was pretty cheated out in the end. Also, not enough Christopher Lloyd. I'm going with Shawshank.

Finally saw the only Nightmare flick before finishing the series: Freddy's New Nightmare. It was serious, inventive, saved Freddy and overcame it's cartoon-style premise. Loved it.

On my Jesus Franco journey, The Awful Dr. Orloff was OK, easily the best he's done so far. Much better direction and acting.
