British dramedy - boy gets punched by dad in a "comedic" way
This one was maybe British and it was released between 1999-2005.
It was like a serious coming in age movie that tried to be funny. The boy had an absent dad and the only scene I remember is that...

Re: Why isn't Planet of the Apes (1968) as appreciated today?
The biggest mistake was that it was released in 1968 when 2001 came out. They should've waited for 2 years.

Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) is pretty graphic, man
So, I've just seen Passion of Joan of Arc from 1928 and I'm blown away.
The acting is superb but what struck me was how graphic it was. It had blood (real too!), disturbing close ups on torture...

Re: Boy raised by an elephant?
I don't think it's any of the Jungle Book movies. The boy was like 10-12 years old and I just remember the elephant as his only companion.

Boy raised by an elephant?
This was an American movie I watched as a kid back in the 90s.
The only thing I remember is that it was about an orphan boy who became a "savage" in a jungle and his best friend was an elephant. ...

Submarine movie where adult son finds his father?
In the early 2000s I watched some kind of an American adventure movie. It was about two men joining an expedition in a submarine. They had blue uniforms that sometimes looked like an overall.
I...

Smaller western (1950s/1960s) with a Michael Landon lookalike?
Searching for an American western from the 1950s/1960s.
It was about a 30-/40-year-old cowboy who ended up at a young widow's home. She lived in the middle of nowhere with her 2-4 children.

French movie set in 1900 (not Bertolucci)?
This is a French movie I watched 10 years ago so it was probably released between the late 1980s to 2005-ish.
I only remember 2 scenes.
The opening scene there an old man in a ruin or similar...

Passive-aggressive man gets angry and levitates in a castle?
Looking for a drama with sci-fi or magical vibes, either American or British and I guess it's from sometime during the 70s-80s.
The plot was about a passive-aggressive white man in his 30s/40s who...
