I just find it a little hard to care about the existence of remakes in relation to their sources. Either they're good and they equal/surpass their...

Re: Steven Spielberg remaking West Side Story

I'd sincerely watch the hell out of Cronenberg's E.T. Little bastard's already halfway to looking like something out of The Brood.

More to the point, he directed Logan, a film that notably took an iconic hero and gave him a down-and-dirty deconstruction to go along with his advancing age. I doubt that a Disney-owned Lucasfilm...

Re: Movies you PRAY they never remake

I feel like this thread does already exist, but I don't know if there's really that much point to the topic since I daresay that it's far too easy to name classics (or favourites) that shouldn't be...

I obviously support women, you can tell from my post where I repeatedly state that supporting women ruins female characters.

Anyway, this movie is fine.

Though I'd obviously agree that The Wicker Man is the superior film, there are certain aspects of Midsommar that are worth considering. The protagonists' motivations mostly being to do with them...

There might be some I'd put above it (Blade Runner or The Shining, for instance) but it's still great.

Other ones I forgot include every David O. Russell movie that isn't Three Kings (and even then that's just okay) and High Fidelity.

Depending on how we define characters as likeable, the first two titles I thought of were The Hateful Eight and Glengarry Glen Ross. All the main characters in the former are straight-up horrible to...

The letters are such a good summation of the film's critique, though - the father reveals that he is effectively stuck in a hopeless situation for the rest of his days and the son dreams up a rescue...

Even if it was literally one unbroken take, how else do they account for the fact that it does just cut to black when the protagonist gets knocked out about halfway through the film?

Re: The fate of 1917 at the oscars and how it was inevitable
