The Phantom Carriage is an excellently scored silent film. It's so far the only one in the genre to make me cry, and a lot of it is thanks to the music.

Something I think is interesting to talk about is whether music helps raise the impact or if it just feels bloated. Some prefer there to be a score accompanying it since it drives the emotion home...
