No, grandpa is not in a wheelchair in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It's just a chair. They carry him in his chair, but it doesn't have wheels on it.

Same for the sequel, but the remake...

It's creepy in its own way. The wheelchair seems symbolic of man being crippled... perhaps by having legs cut off by a chainsaw.
