Film schools love their European art-house films, and would conveniently teach European films rather than Asian films to film students because of academic/time constraints. This isn't surprising...

There are a LOT of films that are underrated, particularly Asian films. This one of the recent films I saw that's absolutely devastating as a documentary of governmental indifference.

Considering that it's directed by Robert Rodriguez, who also directed the From Dusk Till Dawn and co-directed Sin City, El Mariachi was overshadowed by his more successful films.
