yeah it does look pretty cool, hope a trailer comes out soon, cause the three lines of plot info don't tell you much about the movie. Looks like 2005 will be a good film year :)

Sky High Release Date: July 29, 2005 Studio: Walt Disney Pictures Director: Mike Mitchell Screenwriter: Paul Hernandez, Bob Schooley, Mark McCorkle, Jonathan Aibel, Glenn Berger, Matt Lopez Starring: Kelly Preston, Lynda Carter, Michael Angarano, Danielle Panabaker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Bruce Campbell, Dave Foley, Steven Strait, Kurt Russell
Plot: When you're the son of the world's most legendary superheroes The Commander (Kurt Russell) and Jetstream (Kelly Preston), there is only one school for you - Sky High, an elite high school that is entrusted with the responsibility of molding today's power-gifted students into tomorrow's superheroes. The problem is that Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano) is starting with no superpowers of his own and, worst of all, instead of joining the ranks of the "Hero" class, he finds himself relegated to being a "Sidekick." Now he must somehow survive his freshman year while dealing with an overbearing gym coach (Bruce Campbell), a bully with super speed and an dangerous rebel with a grudge (and the ability to shoot fire from his hands)... not to mention the usual angst, parental expectations and girl problems that accompany teenage life. But when an evil villain threatens his family, friends and the very sanctity of Sky High, Will must use his newfound superpowers to save the day and prove himself a "Hero" worthy of the family tradition. |

Kelly freaking Preston, holy crap man. I can't wait for this movie. Looks like it will be fun and contain a few laughs. If all else fails, I'll stare at Ms. Travolta for 2 hours.

You're staring at Ms Travolta? Don't you mean Mr Campbell....

Damn.
I thought this was the long-awaited sequel to High School High I've been begging for. |
I thought it was the movie based on the inconsistent comic by Tsutomu Takahashi (probably the Ryuhei Kitamura one already mentioned).

Just checked out the trailer on Apple -- looks great. looking forward to seeing this.

Anyway, this looks like a different kind of superhero movie. I mean, its more of a superheros in highschool sorta film rather than a superheros that have to save the world again film. Could be fun. If nothing else, I'll take my little bro to see this. |
Re: Sky High
Wow, really not much talk of this movie... Well, I just wanted to point out similarities to this movie and an earlier Disney channel movie called, Up, up and away. Which, upon recent research, will be shown on The Disney channel on March 19th & 20th. Basically, it was about the son of two superheroes who doesn't have powers of his own.

Re: Sky High
That's because it came out more than 3 years ago and is no longer up and coming.

Re: Sky High
:rotfl:
This is good stuff right here , an ancient thread when people thought this might be good. |
Re: Sky High
Yeah, I felt the same way when I read the "movies that should be made" and everyone was saying how a Max Payne movie would be "the best action movie ever made".
