Cat vs Dog

Who would win in a fight?

A cat or dog?

Depends on the dog and the cat.

That said, I’ve personally witnessed a cat being killed by a dog when I was a kid. Working in vet clinics I’ve also seen the aftermath of dog attacks on cats and on other dogs. It’s among the reasons why I will never own a dog and won’t allow one in my home.

Cat AND dog.. I ain't playing this game. A loved cat and a loved dog will be the best of mates..

Having said that, a lion will make a light snack of a chihuahua and an XL bully is not gonna be "outwitted" by a common tabby if its cornered.

There is no correct answer.

This is purely your loss.

If the cat is a tiger, I'd bet on the cat

Nope. I grew up with both dogs and cats. I've worked in vet med for over 20 years. I've spent a lot of time with dogs. I have absolutely no desire to own one and I will never take the chance of having one in my home. I value my cats far too much for that.

I love dogs, but I would never have one in my house unless I had no cats at the time. My calico would freak if a dog was in my house. She’s probably never even seen one.

She’s just come over to me for some cuddles & to make sure she’s my only pet. :p

Well, you can see that I am biased here...

Did you try to stop it?

What was I supposed to do about it? I was a kid. It was on the other side of the street. I certainly wasn’t fast enough to do anything, plus trying to intervene in a dog attack is a near sure fire way to get attacked yourself.

The dog belonged to a neighbor and escaped their yard multiple times. That wasn’t the only cat he killed, either. There was at least one other time - only that time it was witnessed by the owner of the cat and they took the dog owners to court. The dog ended up being put down.

I mean, depending on the size of the dog, even a kid might be big enough to make him reconsider his attack. I didn't know the deets, so I was curious! :D

Dogs are clearly, and by far, more intelligent and emotionally developed. Cats are empty.

Nonsense.

I love both and have had both. Right now we have two chocolate labs and no cats.
