white chicks
there is this new movie called White Chicks starring shawn and Marlon Waynes and directed by Kennon Ivory waynes. its about 2 FBI agents (marlon and shawn) who have to protect these two rich white girls so they go under cover as white girls to protect her all the time. i had mixed feelings when i read this plot. first i thought it would be bad because this type of plot had been used alot of times (ex. big mommas house) but then i thought it could be good because i liked scary movie and dont be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood. then i saw the trailers and first of all shawn and marlon dont even look like humans but like aliens when they r in their white girl disguises. and i didnt really find anything funny in the trailer.
u can see the trailer and read about the movie here http://movies.go.com/movies/W/whitec...04/index.html# tell me wut u guys think. |
I saw this trailer a little while back on joblo.com. Liking Scary Movie and such, I figured this might have a slight humorous touch. I checked it out and those Wayans Brothers do not do themselves justice one bit. I found it moronic and assinine.

I know this topic hasn't been discussed in a while, but I've gotta put my two cents in anyway.
I don't in theory have a problem with this movie's topic or name. It's a comedy, and the Wayans brothers are trying to be funny and poke fun at white women and "white culture." That's perfectly fine. Of course, what does present a problem is that if there was a movie called "black chicks" starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, or some other pair of white comedians, there would be non-stop controversy. Problems have already been had at Cornell University, Penn. State, and Georgia State where white students who dressed up in "black face" have been disciplined or subject to "diversity training." Are the Wayans brothers going to subject to "diversity training"? Don't get me wrong here - I'm not at all trying to push some sort of "white power" or KKKish type agenda - in fact I have no agenda - but it's obvious that this type of behavior is very hypocritical. Can this be attributed to the many years of whites keeping blacks down? I don't think that is a legitimate argument, but I'm sure someone could come up with a plausible defense why it is. What do you guys think? |
You couldn't drag me drunk to the theater to see this movie. They don't even look like white chicks, more like demons. You'd think they could have found better contacts than the ones they're wearing.

Hey Slay, Totally off topic but i love ya new avatar. Is it Clare Forlani (sp?) of Meet Joe Black fame? If it is...shes so pretty and sexy and lovely it makes me cry.
|
Thanks. Yes it is Claire; she is beautiful beyond words.

I saw the previews to this the other day and they reminded me of Joan Rivers with long hair… very scary… :p
|
This movie is definately a thumbs down film. It seems rather absurd at the premise of poking fun at rich white girls (which by the way I don't see is the humour in it or point). Both brothers do have a very similar similarity to Joan Rivers, I agree! Even under heavy prosthetics their characters seem so fake. What was the purpose of this film anyway?
|
BTW...Slay, that is a very beautiful women. I have never seen this actress. She seems very classy. What movies has she done?
|
i havent seen it yet but i hate movies like this. its like "OMG white people and black people doing things together eeeeeeeek " like its a big deal. all these types of movies are doing are promoting racial differences.
|
Yes, somehow this movie does elaborate on stereotypes, but wait! It's two black men dressed up as girls! Not the most popular thing in black culture!
|
I caught it and I have to say....that yes it did have a good anount of comedic value. I enjoyed it.
