Does Cell 211 (2009), count as an action movie?

Executive Decision (1996)

Watched this again recently and it reminded me of what a well put together movie it is.
The plot has lots details, but never gets to the point where you lose track of what's going on.
It's flow, scene changes and timing is perfect and the cast is superb.

And my favorite part:
WARNING: "Oops!" spoilers below
Steven Seagal doesn't survive beyond the first 20 minutes! :)

Thank you! Almost forgot!

I had actually mentioned Thief earlier today in the most underrated films thread.

Thief is a GREAT movie!

That would depend on how you distinguish between an action movie, a thriller, and an action thriller.

Amen on that. If there's one movie you could watch over and over, that would be the one for me too, along with The Matrix

Yeah, I thought that. But I can easily see Heat as an action thriller – I suppose it depends how much action you want.

Heat always felt like more of a crime drama to me than anything else, though I do agree that its action beats are at least as much of the thriller variety as the action variety (the stake-out, the finale, etc.)

That's a good point. Heat and Thief are both more crime dramas than actions thrillers.
