Best films of the year so far?

With the release of Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk, what do you think are the best films of the year so far?

Get Out, followed by It Comes at Night and Logan in a tie for 2nd place.

I'm hoping to catch Dunkirk sometime this week. I'm hyped.

I hope it grows on me in a year or two, because I really did not like that one. =(

I guess Dunkirk is on top for me at the moment. Gorgeous movie. Excellent compositions. It was just a beautiful film to view. On a geeky level, I REALLY enjoyed how the audio was used near the end for a few shots. Minor complaints regarding timelines, and one actor's close-up, but these are particular critiques for a particular movie.

I've watched basically nothing, so far it would be Song To Song.

I thought Get Out was pretty entertaining. Originality goes a long way.

To be rather honest, this year has been sh*t so far. Nothing but possibly 'Get Out', and maybe 'Logan' is of any worth. So instead, I'd rather just predict what my favorite films of the year will be by the end of it.:shrug:

1. Call Me By Your Name
2. Phantom Thread
3. Mother!
4. The Florida Project
5. Dunkirk

Because why the stupid f**k not.

John Wick chapter 2

Dirk120 08-02-17 12:02 PM

The worst film of the year is either John Wick 2 or The Emoji Movie.

The best I have seen in 2017 so far is probably The Big Sick. Dying to see Dunkirk.
