Anybody else hear about this? I think this is the horseshoe in motion, the crux of the regressive left taken beyond a misguided tolerance of intolerance and straight into the annals of stupidity.

This is the social justice movement in a nutshell: Identify a problem, then solve it in a manner that enables that problem.

My issue with revenge porn is that people seem to think it's unreasonable for the police to come back with "well, if you gave it to your boyfriend then it's technically a gift/why did you record yourself in the first place?"

Well this is not the least bit disturbing. I'm all for putting a-holes and trolls in their place, but this a little extreme.

You know, the phrase "the ability to privatize social profiles" seems like this person is new to the internet, like, she just got here and the only ****ing website she thinks exists is Facebook.

Movie Forums would blow her mind.

I thoroughly detest trolls myself, but something a lot of people fail to recognize is that the most emotionally unstable people who kill themselves over cyberbullying crap, and thus get held up as examples, are frequently arbiters of their own demise when they respond to criticism and random idiots with public antagonism and insecurity.

Suddenly, you got people who were targets before pissing somebody else off and then whose name winds up on the hitlist?

the internet,which was a brilliant way for us to get smarter and more connected has insted made us dumber than belief and even more disconnected.
I dont have a problem with such a site in theory-the fact that you can write and behave any way you want without any consequenses is the reason why the internet is such a mess and why people are getting dumber by the minute- when you then have to take responsibilty for the things you do,maybe it will give people a kick up the ass and act their age.
the problem online is that there no higher boss of it all to sort things out,and thats been needed for quite a while now.
and the defense of revenge porn is beyond disgusting.

I think thats something thats currently worked on in many countries.
There was a man who ran a site based solely on revenge porn who got jailed a few years a go in the us (? i think)
Its illegal here but i dont think you would get much time for it,given how little one gets (if any) for rape and similar sexual assaults/harassement.
2 of the women killed themself.

But its fairly new-in the sense that its a common phrase now so i hope the laws get stricter.

First off:
I'm not defending revenge porn, I'm criticizing people's reaction to it's absence as a law.

I'm generally annoyed by the prospect of people who think they can report death threats to the police. The police can't DO anything, you have a medium that virtually unites the best and worst people in the world so you have to get thicker skin to survive outside your "safe space" communities.

Considering you just implied that rape isn't adequately punished in your country, one would HOPE the government has better priorities than babysitting people on the internet.
