This one comes out in a couple of weeks and stars Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell, Courtney Cox Arquette, David Arquette, Jon Lovitz, and Christian Slater.

It's about a bunch of thieves who decide to rob a Las Vegas casino during an Elvis-impersonator convention.

I thought I would bring it up for all of you Costner fans. **snicker**

Actually, the cast looks interesting. I like Jon Lovitz and Christian Slater. I could do without the anorexic Courtney Cox, but she's OK.

Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell were both allowed to make their own cuts of the movie. Costner's more action-oriented version prevailed in test screenings over Russell's version that played up the romance between him and Courtney Cox.

Other cast members include Howie Long and Thomas Haden Church (Lowell on the TV show Wings).

Gotta love Lowell :)

This looks pretty good - like a "feel-good" type of movie. Kurt Russell also makes a surprisingly decent Elvis from what I've seen in the previews. The remake of "Viva Las Vegas" sounds pretty good, too.

I don't know if it is a feel-good movie. Costner said
I resent that it might catch a little more scrutiny from the MPAA [ratings board] or from somebody else because there is some [concern about violence] in Washington. I guarantee you, it's not that bad. It's a movie and it's a stylish one. It's a film noir [for the new century].

Well, violence doesn't mean it can't be a "feel-good" type - Last Action Hero was a funny, feel-good movie - although it was a parody.

It certainly isn't "feel-good" the way "The Replacements" is though, that's for sure. :)

The Replacements can't be a "feel good" movie. It made me all headachey and sad, and about halfway through the film, I started to lose my will to live.

LOL.

It made me feel good - it's fairly predictable, goofy, pretty funny, and overall it didn't take itself seriously.

My favourite movies of all time are ones where there is a big robbery planned, or a great escape kind of thing...anyone agree? These movies make for really great viewing!! So from what I hear (especially 'cos it has Costner in it ;)) it might be a worthwile flick!!
