Production Companies that turn a film on, or off for you?
A lot of people have actors, directors, hell even composers, that attract them to a movie. I was just curious to know if any of you guys had a particular production company that will peak your interest. What are some production companies you really like, or some you really hate?
For me, I will be more interested in a film that's produced by Miramax. They've made a lot of solid films. There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Gone Baby Gone, The Aviator, Infernal Affairs, Kill Bill vol 1 & 2, City of God, Gangs of New York, Amelie, Apocalypse Now Redux, Rounders, Jackie Brown, Good Will Hunting, Pulp Fiction. The only one I can think of that I really don't like is Revolution Studios. |

I never pay any attention to the production company.

I barely care who directs, let alone the Production company. :) It might be interesting to see if people do, though and why.

Never. I have really only started paying attention to the director in the last three years. I will say I could give a damn about what people are involved in producing a movie anymore. It just seems like they throw money at people like Spielberg and Bruckheimer so they can use their name in marketing.
I used to care a great deal about what actors were involved in a film and nothing else. Now it is almost all about the director and word of mouth for me. |

I don't, but The Asylum is a good example.

Incidentally I have noticed a lot of the independent recos I get from here and podcasts seem to be from Magnolia. |

And, of course, one of the best scene in film history.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I16_8l0yS-g It's stuff like this that make it worth it, for me. This is also the film that made sharks relevant again, which is kind of sad. |

Yeah, like me. :D

I always read the opening credits, or closing credits for newer films, as they come at the end of the movie. I try to pay attention to production studios, but haven't got who is who figured out yet. So I try to notice the director and script writer. On really old films I can recognize many names for all sorts of stuff, but on newer films,it's just the director I notice.
