Do people like myself have a special name?

I am one of those people who enjoy these movies
Willow, Dark Crystal, Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Goonies, Toy Soldiers, Bill and Ted, Old Disney flicks (Robin Hood, Sword in the Stone, remember these??), Star Wars, Lost Boys, and the list goes on.. Is there a special name or something for people who love these kinds of old 80's movies mainly aimed at children?

I will of course be expecting the obvious answers, Dork, Geek, Loser, and so on..

Caitlyn 10-31-02 12:26 PM

Those movies were mainly aimed at children…. ;)

Sir Toose 10-31-02 02:53 PM

I think only half of your list were aimed at children...

At any rate a name that applies to you would also apply to me... I like 'em too.

FiLm Fr3aK 10-31-02 03:16 PM

Holy Christ. With a name like that, it's gotta be a winner.

And I, too, love those movies--they're the ones you can watch over and over and over and over and over...

Except maybe Toy Soldiers. That one, you really only need to see once. ;D

Aniko 10-31-02 07:34 PM

I love those old movies also, so I guess I would be a Geek or Dork also. I've never seen Toy Soliders though.

Disney: I love Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast.....and many others.

The Man from Snowy River also sticks out as wonderful movie.

And...QueerWolf!? Sounds like the name of a new rock group.

Lukasaurus,

Don't feel bad about your taste in movies. I'm still waiting for them to come out with a Fantastic Four movie starring:

Burt Young as The Thing
Loretta Switt as The Invisible Woman
Todd Bridges as The Human Torch
Charles Grodin as Mr. Fantastic

Lukasaurus 11-01-02 04:51 AM

Who's feelin bad?

HEHE, I don't feel bad! I love these movies, I was just wondering if there was some wierd little name that like minded people were referred to by!

FANTASTIC FOUR!! Sweet.. but they have to lose the Spandex look. Leather is also not a good look (you stupid X-Men! since the matrix was released, it seems that all-black is the coolest thing ever??)

Travis_Bickle 11-04-02 11:17 PM

What about the "Wizard" with Fred Savage? I love that film.

I saw an old live action Fantastic Four film (underground due to the badness of it, and it was hilarious.)

Godfada 11-06-02 10:27 PM

"Caaaalifornia."

Vyse 11-08-02 06:53 PM

Hmmm, it's kinda a nostalgia thing, everyone likes to look back to defining moments or things from their past. I'd say it was pretty normal to like most of the films on your list, you'd be surprised how many other people do. :D
