  • Apocalypse Now! (Coppola, 1979)
  • Kids (Clark, 1995)
  • Festen/The Celebration, (Vinterberg, 1998)

You see... This is an impossible assignment... Mabye a Top 100 and a month to think about it would be easier. But who would take the time to read anybody else's Top 100? :skeptical:

The Silver Bullet 10-28-02 09:04 AM

Shall I update your top ten for you, Master Toose?

Sir Toose 10-28-02 11:38 AM

I don't know... it's such a moving target... ya know?

Yoda 10-28-02 11:42 AM

I do know.

Up to all ya'll. I fell behind on the lists for a bit, but I'll get back on it. If anyone wants theirs updated, lemme know. :)

linespalsy 10-28-02 11:53 AM

well, i'll post ten movies that are strong contenders currently, for my single favorite, cause it is just too hard to rank them accurately. so in a very vague order:

1: aguirre (herzog)
2: wild strawberries (bergman)
3: gorsch the cellist (takahata)
4: tokyo story (ozu)
5: modern times (chaplin)
6: sunset blvd. (wilder)
7: men with guns (sayles)
8: faust (svankmajer)
9: tokyo fist (tsukamoto)
10: seven beauties (wertmuller)

damn, i'm sure i'm forgetting some gems, i'll have to post back with my top 100 (maybe top 50, to make it more competative) later on.

heh, just noticed that my top three are (i think) the same as the top three i posted in the 'favorite foreign language films' topic.

Yeah, I should have known that. Judging from the number of posts that you guys have produced here I take it one could define you as film nerds (and I do mean that as a compliment!).

Ok, you asked for it!!! One of these day I will make you read my Top 100!
