Recommend Me Movies?
I need some good movies to watch that are PG-13 or under, doesn't have to be new, but not too old (after 1990's. Actually I'd prefer if its available on DVD.
Some movies I liked are: Inception, Avatar, Source Code, Matrix, The Dark Knight, and Transformers. Something with action or a twist ending like Source Code or just mind blowing like Inception. Thanks. |
Secret Window - I am pretty sure it is PG-13
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5PWbTseMx0 The Prestige - Definitely has a twist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4gHCmTQDVI A Beautiful Mind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aS_d0Ayjw4o Matchstick Men http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NajOPhAf9MU Breach http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJuLFKeRoJg |

Moon shouldn't be rated that, you're right, filmgirl.I think this calls for a thread that discusses films that have been given inappropriate ratings.
|
Re: Recommend Me Movies?
I have not seen Moon in a while I don't remember nudity or any significant blood so it must be just for language.
There is a movie I think it is called The F Word that shows the corruption and everything that goes on with rating movies. |

Re: Recommend Me Movies?
There's actually a movie called The F Word: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0447953/
But I think another documentary called ****** might make for a nice double feature with This Film Has Not Yet Been Rated: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486585/ Haven't seen either of these F-bomb movies yet, think I'll try and find ******. |
How about the Three Musketeers 2011 and Hangover
|
Re: Recommend Me Movies?
I am guessing you mean The Hangover and that was definitely rated R for very good reasons.

Re: Recommend Me Movies?
^ Or the very good original film, A Tale of Two Sisters. The remake made a slight change to the twist though. It's R Rated in America, but there is more graphic stuff in the PG-13 remake from what I can remember...

Any of M. Night Shyamalan films, I have seen almost all of them but would only recommend:
The Sixth Sense Signs The Village |

Duncan Jones is fantastic, and I hope to see more by him soon, that is if he puts down the video game controller and gets back to work. Check out Moon, his debut film.
Pi, by Darren Aronofsky, is a work of genius made on a no-budget production. Looks great for what he had to work with and the acting/craft levels are par-none. Sorcerer (1977) by William Friedkin, is a masterful "older" film with great acting and cinematography that has an excellent story. Stephen King calls this a movie "that never disapoints" - I agree. Anything by John Cassavetes is an education in the human condition. John has nothing to do with sci-fi or flashy film making, he is pure heart and drama, but one of the best "art" focused film makers ever. Empire of the Sun by Steven Spielberg, a movie that did not make a big splash but features Christian Bale (a young lad at the time) and has a ton of heart. Masterful film making. Nothing beats Blade Runner or the original Alien by Ridley Scott in the genre of sci-fi action. These two films are in my top ten best science fiction movies of all time. |
Re: Recommend Me Movies?
The R-rated thing limited a lot of my recommendations, but:
-Scott Pilgrim vs. The World -Jaws -Super 8 And just to see if I can create a Hitchcock fanatic... -Rear Window |
