Game-related/inspired movies
 

This is mostly geared toward long-time gamers and probably won't appeal to anyone else but...I was just wondering, what are some game-related movies you like?

Two that I can think of off the top of my head are The Wizard, and EXistenZ.

Silent Hill
Resident Evil
Mario Bros (not a big fan but if you like Mario Bros then you have to watch it)
Tomb Raider
Double Dragon
Mortal Kombat
Final Fantasy
Doom
Max Payne (movie sucked, but the game is one of the best)

Well, those are pretty obvious. I meant it more like movies that involve gaming without being a direct game adaptation.

I second Scott Pilgrim. That was awesome.

I personally don't think that there have been many, if any, good movies based on video games. For me, I'd rather PLAY a game, the movies lack the interactivity. Plus, they always change the storylines. Resident Evil the movie has almost NOTHING to do with the games.

But Super Mario Brothers remains a guilty pleasure of mine. It's so bad it's good. I mean Mojo Nixon is in it as Toad! That's pure awesome.

Oh no, that movie is hideously awful! My boyfriend loves it though. :rolleyes:

Let me preface this by saying that I am fully prepared to get some criticism for this. I really enjoyed "Sucker Punch" and the fantasy-fight scenes totally had the video game vibe going on:

I don't know if this technically counts... but the movie "The Game" certainly floored me oh so many years ago.

The ultimate game really.
