Re: Your Top Ten Directors
It's a really tough call for this, but in no specific order:
Alfred Hitchcock Tony Scott Ridley Scott Martin Scorcese Clint Eastwood Christopher Nolan After that it really is a toss up, I really like Kazan's and Billy Wilder's work, but I haven't seen enough of it to call him one of "the best" though I wouldn't doubt it if he is. |
Re: Your Top Ten Directors
Sidney Lumet
Steven Spielberg William Friedkin Alfred Hitchcock Martin Scorsese Tony Scott Norman Jewison Francis Ford Coppola Rob Reiner Sydney Pollack |
Re: Your Top Ten Directors
I've only got 3 but they are:
Martin Scorsese James Cameron Steven Spielberg |
Re: Your Top Ten Directors
I hesitated including Cameron just because he works so infrequently.
10 yrs from now, Jason Reitman will probably crack my top 10, but need a body of work to go by. |
Re: Your Top Ten Directors
James Camaron made the two of the highest grossing films, he has to make the list.
|
Re: Your Top Ten Directors
what does highest grossing have to do with price of cheese?
thats great for the accountants and the investors, otherwise not much merit. If thats your basis dennis dugan is a better director than john sayles. |
Re: Your Top Ten Directors
Comparatively-speaking, OK, but Dugan can't touch Cameron, except that he's a "grosser" director.
|
Re: Your Top Ten Directors
im not comparing dugan to Cameron..lol jus sayen whether the movie made big dough or not isnt a yardstick for directing prowess.
thats all. |
Re: Your Top Ten Directors
You don't have to explain it to me. I'm on your side. But Dugan still is "grosser"!
|
Re: Your Top Ten Directors
Dennid Dugan is not a sought after director. He only makes a movie when Adam Sandler hires him.
|
