Is it just me or does John Wick look like a revenge movie about Keanu Reeve's dead dog?

I was thinking the same thing, yeah. I imagine there'll be other victims, but they're totally absent from the trailer.

The trailer makes the movie look like a decent action movie but the dog plot is definitely throwing me off

The dog is just a scene or dialogue portion in the movie that sets things in motion per say. It's not the "plot".

I understand that, perhaps another term would have been better. However since the trailer makes it looks like the dog death is the event driving John Wick, I would say it is part of but not all of the plot.

This movie looks great.
It's holding onto a 9.2 on IMDB!!!

The dog was given to him by his dying wife. A good enough reason to wreck the town and kill numerous people.

promises to be a hit, i certainly like keanu reeves in an action role.

Friends of mine were excited for this, I was like :data:. Then when I saw it was being shown in IMAX, real IMAX with no 3D basura, I was like :flair:.

I am a sucker for the non 3D IMAX movies and it's a big plus for Interstellar.

I know that Keanu is not a very good actor, but for some reason I love to watch his movies, and this one looks good

This was a good time for action fare. It surprised me how well the dog story (connected to the wife and how his life is affected by her) worked. Action scenes were enjoyable, nothing groundbreaking but Keanu is very believable. The end of it really peeters out, but it doesn't make it unwatchable.

Pros:
- the club scene and that song that played during it
- headshotting that would make any high prestige CoD player proud
- the car porn (maybe the sound is only turned up to 11 for IMAX, but :scream:)

Cons:
- the only real issue I had with with the movie was the IMAX. I may be a rank amateur on the subject, but it was a sham. It "sounded" like it was only for the audio. There was no ceiling to floor image and the clarity was not there.
