That really sucks! I loved seeing Hot Rod on Raw when he would come on and do Pipers Pit occasionally.

Thanks to wrestling he was one of my earliest heroes. I started watching WWE in the early 90s and he was instantly one of my favourites; the fact that the character hailed from Glasgow certainly helped. Still remember going crazy for his match against Bret Hart at Wrestlemania as it was pretty much my two favourite wrestlers of the time going head to head.

Later on in life he became an even bigger legend in my eyes when I discovered the brilliant They Live. He may not have been an actor of tremendous range, and I've seen some people write his performance off as being a poor man's Kurt Russell, but he owned that movie.

They Live is great, no doubt but if you really wanna get down on some Rowdy Piper then you must see Hell Comes to Frogtown. It also features the luscious Sandahl Bergman from Conan The Barbarian. "There's a flap..." I'll miss ya Rowdy.
