The Legend of Conan

Finally!

It looks like Ahnold will be reprising his role as Conan. This is good news, I can die old and happy now.

The remake did horribly at the box office...do people care for Conan? Is arnold really going to bring it back to a success?

The remake was terrible, didn't hate the actor though.
& I don't think it was his fault that the movie bombed, it had a terrible story to begin with.

Besides that, I am not too excited about seeing Arnold back as Conan.
I say get a new decent actor, this would help to further the franchise.

Arnold has gotten terribly old for such roles, unless they're planning to do a King Conan storyline.

That's the impression I have. Conan will be the aged warrior seen at the last of the first film.

That's the only storyline that would work IMO.
& Arnold as a bearded Conan (with a crown) is not a bad idea.

Re: The Legend of Conan

The film is unlikely going to happen now. Chris Morgan was asked for an update:
“Not so much. That’s kind of a longer story. At the end of the day, the studio decided that they weren’t gonna make that. I gotta say, it’s honestly a heartbreak. I love that first movie so much, so much, it’s one of my favorite movies.

We had Will Beall do a draft on [the Legend of Conan script]. He killed it. Our take was Conan, 30 years later, a story like the Clint Eastwood Unforgiven. It was so awesome.

Ultimately, the budget was big, the studio was not really sure of the title, and the relevance in the marketplace. They ended up letting it go. I think they’re gonna look to do a TV show or something with it.

But just to be associated with it, pitch it to Arnold, have him get so excited, there was a moment of magic for me, personally [laughs]. You never know, down the road we may revisit!”

I love Arnie. I almost walked out of the first one the acting was so horrendous but I would watch this.

I am a fan. His acting is dreadful but that is part of the appeal.

His best role was where he had to play an android, and he just maintained his normal acting style :D

I dislike very few of his films.

He's so bad he's excellent. I dont think I've ever said that about any other actor EVER. I've even rewatched Conan several times - he's just that good.

Yeh it was his big break in Hollywood. I think before that he did porn, but my reading of his Bio was a long time ago so I might be getting my wires crossed.

That was on tv over easter or just before. He's so likable in that. So is Danny. 'Do I look norml to you???' to the cop.

Haha! Yeah love Danny too. I have his name, spelt differently but pronounced the same! Kindergarten cop is a great film too.

WorldFilmGeek 04-20-17 11:33 AM

Arnie did say that they are trying to get the Twins sequel Triplets off the ground by the end of the year. It would have Arnie and Danny learning there was a third baby in that experiment and he will be played by Eddie Murphy. Ivan Reitman would be coming back to direct it too if all goes to plan. The script is being written:

The Conan TV series star Ralf Moeller is perhaps best known as the villain Brakus in Best of the Best 2 and appeared in one of my favorite comedies, Beerfest as one of the giants of the German drinking team.
